  • A crew of 3-4 men air hammer an uneven area around manhole and extract pieces using manual labor.

  • The air hammer chisels at an angle, creating a vortex shape around the edges of the cutout.

  • When asphalt or concrete is poured against the existing street at this angle, it naturally creates a push-and-pull effect.

  • Over time, this rubbing will push the new casting away from the street causing the manhole to "pop up" and fail.

  • One man operation of special cutter truck (every control on truck is radio remote controlled).

  • Evenly cuts a perfect circle in asphalt or concrete up to 60" in diameter and 12" deep.

  • When asphalt or concrete is poured against this cylinder shape, it creates a strong bond and eliminates the push-and-pull effect.

  • This flush bond is much stronger and will stay level for years to come.
